Joe Turner
Music producer Joe Turner is an accomplished
producer, musician, songwriter and arranger. He is president
of Isle of Skye Productions, a boutique independent music
production house and record label. Joe has assembled a team of professionals
to develop and work with independent
artists, and singer/songwriters along with film, video and television producers. Joe Turner
oversees the business and financial management of Isle of Skye
Productions and fosters relationships with business partners.
Over the years almost every conceivable type of music has been
written and recorded in the Isle of Skye
Production studios, and
with each and every recording, Joe has deepened his commitment
to the artists and companies he works with.
Joe got his start in the music industry in 1967 and for many years
he pursued a career as a musician, arranger and producer for
CTV and CBC National telecasts. In the mid-eighties Joe moved
into
the television production world and has since produced three
documentaries… Dispatches
From The Front: The Story of Matthew Halton for the CBC and History
Television, The Gift of Summer: The Story of Dr. Dan Offord for
CTV and Showrooms…To The Trade Only for HGTV. The musical
scores for all of these documentaries were written and produced
by Joe. For the past nineteen seasons Joe has been the music producer
on one of the CBC’s longest running and highly successful
television series’, On The Road
Again with Wayne Rostad,
and for 10 seasons he wrote and produced the music for another
of the CBC’s popular life-style programs, Cottage
Country.
Joe also produced and wrote the theme music for Grey
Wolf Wilderness Adventures an adventure series for CTV.
As well as his ongoing work with various television series, most
notably, King of the Q with Ted Reader, Joe is currently in the
studio producing and co-producing four extraordinarily talented
singer/songwriters…Alex
Ryder, Chantal Knight, Braiden
Turner and Sean Chhangur. At the same time Joe is writing his
first solo
guitar CD.
This past December, Joe finished work on the CD/DVD just released
by singer/songwriter and teen artist Brea. The package is called
Ready To Fly and Joe is currently meeting with record execs in
New York and LA. Joe’s music and recordings will be featured
on the CIP Radio broadcasts, slated to begin in March, 2006.
In 2003, Joe was awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal for
his musical contributions and works on behalf of the Canadian
Veterans
Association and was sponsored for the award by the War Amputations
of Canada.
Joe Turner has a Degree in Civil Engineering from the University
of Ottawa.
